512MB not enough

I always believe RAM with 512MB is enough for my little Sony notebook. It's enough, in most cases, except running Illustrator. It's not the right time to find out why this application is so hungry of memory as it's after 1:00 am. My feeling currently is "The pop-technology isn't advanced enough" or "My money isn't enough".
