Relief ! 賑災!

No word can describe my feeling of the earthquake and tsunami in South-Southeast Asia.

I just want you to support the relief work of Medecins Sans Frontieres. Why I just call Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)? It's because I found MSF is too low-profile to be broadly described by the HongKong mass-media and even HK bloggers, so I do the job here! Actually, they have already begun the aid operation in Aceh, Indonesia. MSF also delievered a full charter with 30 tons to Sri Lanka, for support of local hospitals. They will likely start aid in other affected countries after assessments.

It's not the matter of whether to make a donation or which organization to support, but simply your support or awareness. They count!

That's service

Also, that's long-forgotten.

Yesterday, I drove the car to the DCH service centre for regular chassis cleaning and anti-rust inspection. The service isn't free but necessary for every vehicles.

Actually, I missed a document that may be needed for this service and I should pay for the re-issue of the doc. However, the service guy said I don't need to pay for that because the doc is used only when the anti-rust maintanence is taken. One more suprise after I got the car back. They have cleaned my car, which used to be dusty and painted with bird's ... something!

That's what should service be - Giving the best to customer and caring the customer. Customers feel it and you have their loyalty. Other industries in HK, do you copy?

CAR..e

Driving a car is much easier than owning a car.

When you are just the driver, only 2 things in your mind - drive safely and get somewhere smoothly. When you're the owner, however, you have to care tons of stuffs, such as licence, insurance and maintenance. All of these things not only takes your times, but also money.

I'm not a car owner but my dad is. I become the "acting owner" of that old Civic during my dad's busy time. Besides suffering the pain of a real owner, this acting owner has one more difficulty - authorization for handling the document issues. I'm now waiting for his authorization letter to the licence renewal from somewhere outside HK. Otherwise, throw the car away. Ha!

That works in GMail

sPaM is unavoidable but it should be "manageable". In GMail, it has a special folder, trapping all SPAM suspects. I find this very friendly. It doesn't mess up with your inbox but you can still recover some real mail from them. My choice of using GMail is correct.

My another mail account in Sina, though, upgrades the storage limit with user homepage and photo album, Spam control is still lousy. The so-called Spam action there is just marking those email addresses of junk source. Wait a minute, those addresses are auto-generated. How many possibilities can it track?
